Barbara Walters Retires As Co-host Of The View

It's official: Barbara Walters has retired as co-host of The View.

Her final episode aired Friday as Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton made surprise appearances to bid her farewell.

Oprah also had a surprise of her own, introducing a group of 25 star-studded female anchors who say they've been influenced by Walters:

What is Barbara going to do now that she's retired from daytime TV? "I'm going to lounge until 3 in the afternoon," she told ABC News.  Walters will continue to serve as executive producer of The View, and will contribute to ABC News as needed.
