Tonight's episode in a nutshell: Bad singing, exotic dancing and the token drunk contestant.
Bachelor Nation Hates: Craig and "Opera Guy"
Bachelor Nation Loves: All three guys who received a date rose tonight
I'm a 30-year-old straight guy who's been watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette religiously for several years now. I'm a "fan" of this show, but not really. I'm not delusional enough to believe that the shenanigans of someone casually dating twenty people at once will ultimately lead them to find their soulmate. Most of the drama that happens on this show, through the direction of the producers and crappy editing, is clearly contrived.
However, I take great pleasure in seeing how far this show is willing to travel down the nonsensical rabbit hole, as well as enjoying the snarky live commentary of the Bachelor Nation.
Tonight's episode started with Andi going on a one-on-one date with Eric. Watching this was an eerie experience, knowing sadly that Eric had passed away after he'd completed filming the show. The Bachelorette made the decision to air footage of his time on the show anyway, and after this episode I'm glad they did. If not he would've been viewed as just some generic guy who happened to die, but we the audience were given the chance to connect with him just as Andi did. We saw someone who had a heartfelt passion for life and adventure, as he told Andi a scary story about a journey he once made to Syria. It was type of moment that actually felt genuine, a rarity on this show.
As depressing as this date is, his family must be so incredibly proud of the man they raised. #TheBachelorette

Of course, the rest of the episode? The silliness you'd expect from The Bachelorette.
Brian, Marquel, Bradley, Craig, Brett, Patrick, Cody, Carl, Tasos, Josh, Ron, Marcus, Nick S. and Dylan were all chosen for Andi's group date at a male strip club. The guys were broken up into three groups and performed exotic dances in a room full of women...for "charity," people kept saying. The show never actually mentioned the name of the charity, but they knew the women watching all of the bouncing packages would be too distracted to ask questions anyway.
The good news is this g-rated "Magic Mike" show was far better than that one time the Matt & Ramona Show fellas did sexy dancing for a crowd of women.
Later that night, Craig got hammered and did what every obnoxious drunk guy does: he babbled loudly, asked Andi stupid questions ("What's your worst thing about your parents?") and jumped into the swimming pool fully clothed. He caused such commotion that producers stepped in and escorted him away from the group date.
Marcus received the group date rose for his solo strip dance. Chris also received a rose tonight during his one-on-one date with Andi at Santa Anita's horse racing track.
Who Got Eliminated? Carl, Nick S. and Craig, despite a last-ditch, vocally-challenged apology from him in song form. Bachelor Nation hated Bradley (aka Opera Guy) because of his singing as well, but Andi chose to keep him around for at least one more week. Also, am I the only one who suddenly didn't recognize half of the guys at the rose ceremony?
Seriously need a cheat sheet for these rose ceremonies. Don't recognize half these guys #TheBachelorette

I don't recognize half of these men with or without clothes. #TheBachelorette

Next Week: We're going to get four hours of The Bachelorette next week as they're airing episodes on both Sunday and Monday. Actually, it'll be more like one hour of the show and three hours of commercials, as they drag out whether or not one of the guys secretly has a girlfriend back home.
