Earlier this month video was released of Tim McGraw slapping a fan during a concert in Atlanta. Now the female fan who was slapped is looking to slap McGraw with a lawsuit.
TMZ reports that the woman, Jesslyn Taylor, has hired personal injury attorney Eric Hertz. The Georgia-based lawyer has already contacted McGraw's reps, so it looks like Taylor is looking to cash in on a settlement before pursuing a lawsuit.
After the video went viral, McGraw's rep told E! Online that McGraw "instinctively swatted" the fan to prevent his jeans from being torn. However, Hertz says his client wasn't grabbing for McGraw's privates and "was nothing more than an enthusiastic fan who was part of the show's 'interactive environment' and merely wanted a touch."
Taylor was ejected from the concert after the incident; she says she feels humiliated and wants an apology.
McGraw's reps haven't responded to the potential lawsuit. In an interview with ET Canada, McGraw explained his side of the story.
"Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on," He said. "I think it was an unfortunate situation I think all the way around. But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on."
