A little preparation can go a long way to saving money on your child's school lunches!
1) Buy In Bulk
Lunchables might be very convenient, but if you add it up you're paying a lot of money. So if you live near a warehouse store like Costco or Sam's Club, you can buy things like crackers, chips and fruit snacks in bulk. Store them in a cool, dry place, and they can last for several months. Perishables like fruits and veggies can be purchased and frozen to prolong their freshness.
Make them in advance and freeze them in individual containers, saving yourself time and money. They also make a healthy alternative to sweet or fatty snacks!
3) Gel Packs
Combine a thermal gel pack with an insulated lunch box an you'll keep your kid's lunch colder, longer.
