Angelina Jolie will be directing a film called "First They Killed My Father," which is based on a memoir of the same name by Loung Ung.
It is about how Ung's family survived the Khmer Rouge regime's genocide.
CNN Money's article reports that Jolie was "deeply affected by Loung's book" and felt that "Films like this are hard to watch but important to see."
Jolie's film will begin production next year, and her husband Brad Pitt has also signed off his next movie, War Machine, to Netflix, and a few select theaters, also due next year.
