Album Review: Justin Bieber's 'Purpose'

It's obvious that Justin Bieber has gone through a ton of changes -  and those changes have lead him into a completely different demographic.

At 21 years old, and with a lot of obvious production help from mainstream electronic dance music DJ Skrillex, Justin has completely reinvented himself, and is showing a lot more of himself than those pictures from the beach house.

On his new album Purpose, the lyrical content has matured. Long gone are the days of "Baby, Baby, Baby, ohhhhh" choruses, Justin shows that he's grown up.

In songs like "I'll Show You," we can assume that he is talking about the media, and the world as a whole, "Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing when the pressure's coming down like lightning. It's like they want me to be perfect, when they don't even know that I'm hurting."

As Justin went through a lot of public scrutiny in recent years with his public image, this gives us our first look into that vulnerability.

He also has a few features on his album, including from Big Sean and Travis Scott, as well as having the Jack U project (Skrillex and Diplo) for their track "Where Are U Now."

Justin rounds out the album with the title track for Purpose - signaling what the album means to him. His spoken words at the end of the song say the following:

" If you don't give it all you got, you're only cheating yourself. Give it all you got, but if it ends up happening, it ends up happening."

The Biebs is kicking off his Purpose World Tour beginning March 9, 2016 in Seattle, WA before hitting dates like Boston, MA (TD Garden, May 10), Greensboro, NC (Greensboro Coliseum, July 6),  and two dates in New Jersey.
